·       BEATLES - INTRODUCING...THE BEATLES - ORIGINAL, FIRST PRESSING (WITH "LOVE ME DO” and “P.S. I LOVE YOU”) ORIGINAL 1963 VEE JAY RECORDS INSANELY RARE ORIGINAL STEREO MISPRESSING -  ORIGINAL VEE JAY TRUE STEREO LP SR-1062 (VJLPS-1062 ON THE LABELS)

·       ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING

·       MONSTRUOUSLY RARE "VERSION 1" STEREO PRESSING WHICH LISTS 'LOVE ME DO' AND 'P.S. I LOVE YOU' ON THE LABELS (INSTEAD OF VERSION 2, WHICH CONTAINS 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' AND 'ASK ME WHY')

·       EVEN MORE RIDICULOUSLY RARE MISPRESSING WHICH ACTUALLY PLAYS 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' AND 'ASK ME WHY' INSTEAD OF 'LOVE ME DO' AND 'P.S. I LOVE YOU' ; THE LABEL LISTING IS INCORRECT AND MISLEADING; THE COVER LISTING CORRECTS THE LABEL MISTAKE AND IS ACCURATE.

·       According to Wikipedia: "...on 16 January 1964, less than a week after Introducing... The Beatles was released, Vee-Jay was served with a restraining order stopping further distribution. Beechwood Music, Inc., Capitol Records' publishing subsidiary, owned the American publishing rights to "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You", and because the two songs had not yet been officially released in the US, Beechwood refused to issue a license for Vee-Jay to release them. Approximately 80,000 copies of Introducing... The Beatles had been released with the two songs on them, with only 2,000 or so in stereo. To circumvent the restraining order, Vee-Jay quickly reconfigured Introducing... The Beatles. It removed "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" and replaced them with the previously deleted "Ask Me Why" and "Please Please Me", though some pressings of the album did not alter the track list [THIS IS CLEARLY ONE OF THOSE 'UNALTERED' COPIES, FOR WHICH THE LABELS WERE PREPARED BEFORE VEE JAY RECEIVED A RESTRAINING ORDER, BUT WHICH WERE ACTUALLY PRESSED AFTER THE COURT ORDER AND REWORKED IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH IT; ONE CAN CALL THESE COPIES 'HYBRID' MISPRESSINGS]

·       ORIGINAL BLACK VEE JAY LABEL WITH MULTICOLORED SPECTRUM (“RAINBOW”) BAND ALONG THE LABEL’S EDGE AND “OVAL” VERSION OF THE LABEL (VEE JAY LOGO IS ENCIRCLED BY A WHITE OVAL LINE)

·       INSANELY RARE WEST COAST PRESSING (MONARCH PRESSING PLANT, LOS ANGELES)

·       THICK, HEAVY CARDBOARD COVER WITH PHOTO SLICK PASTED OVER; CLEAR INSCRIPTION OF THE TITLE ON THE COVER; THIS IS THE "TITLES" VERSION OF THE COVER (NOT THE AD-BACK OR BLANK-BACK VERSION)

·       THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.

·       ORIGINAL, THICK CARDBOARD COVER (AMERICAN STYLE)

·       VERY THICK, HEAVY VINYL PRESSING

·       CLEAN, WEAR-FREE LABELS (SOME MICROSCOPIC PEELING NOTED ON SIDE 2)

·       THE RECORD HAS A DATE STAMP OF 6-29-63 HAND-ETCHED IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX); YES, FOLKS, THE ALBUM WAS ACTUALLY PRESSED EIGHT MONTHS BEFORE IT WAS LEGALLY RELEASED IN THE UNITED STATES IN FEBRUARY 1964.

·       This album has NEVER been available on legitimate Compact Disc or in any other way, manner or format.

Who would have thought 51 years ago that an album by the four obscure Brits from a run-down port city where God said good night and fare-thee-well would make such a galactic impact on the world of Rock music - actually music, in general - and become one of the record collectors' most coveted prizes? Well, here it is, in all its glory, the very first pressing of this album. Or, let me rephrase myself: THE GENUINE first pressing of this album, in mono, with OVAL Vee-Jay logo, on a "colorband" Vee-Jay label. All the elements of the genuine "Introducing the Beatles" album are here: Crisp and clear contours of the Fab Four on the front cover; nice and clearly legible spine with the title and serial number inscription; short dead wax (trail-off vinyl), Audiomatrix stamp in dead wax; title and name of the band BOTH above the spindle hole, dark cardboard on which the cover was pasted, etc. This is ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED first pressing of this album. What makes this piece even more desirable is that this version of the album LISTS (but does not actually include) two songs from their first single (Love me do c/w P.S. I love you), which were later deleted and replaced on all subsequent pressings with the songs from their second single (Please, please me c/w Ask me why). The first version of this legendary album, with the "Love me do" is outnumbered by the second, more common one, at a ratio of at least 50 to 1. A piece of history, not to be missed.

A NOTE OF CAUTION: COUNTERFEIT STEREO COPIES OF THIS ALBUM ARE DIME-A-DOZEN AND OUTNUMBER GENUINE ARTICLES BY A RATIO OF NEARLY 500: 1. PRACTICALLY EVERY SINGLE STEREO COPY WE HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST 40 YEARS WAS A COUNTERFEIT OF ONE KIND OR ANOTHER. IN HIS 5/28/2008 ARTICLE IN THE 'COLLECTOR'S CORNER' (WHICH YOU CAN READ HERE),  LEGENDARY BEATLES EXPERT AND GURU BRUCE SPIZER ELABORATES ON HOW TO IDENTIFY GENUINE, AUTHENTIC COPIES OF 'INTRODUCING THE BEATLES' AND PROVIDES A DETAILED LAUNDRY LIST OF ELEMENTS TO BE CHECKED FOR AUTHENTICITY. WE ASSURE THE PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT OUR COPY MEETS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE SPIZER'S AUTHENTICITY CRITERIA. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR ANY ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND WE WILL GLADLY AND PROMPTLY  PROMPT ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY REQUIRE. . A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY WILL BE PROVIDED ON REQUEST.

OF THOSE GENUINE STEREO COPIES WE HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST 42 YEARS (ABOUT FIVE, WE RECKON), BRUCE SPIZER CATEGORIZES TWO AS MONO BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT PROPERLY MARKED AS STEREOS (THEY WERE STEREOS LABELED AS MONO). THIS MEANS THAT IN THE ENTIRE  HISTORY OF OUR RECORD-COLLECTING GOING BACK  TO 1972, WE HAVE SEEN NO MORE THAN THREE AUTHENTIC STEREO COPIES OF THIS ALBUM -- ROUGHLY ONE COPY EVERY OTHER DECADE -- OF WHICH  THIS IS THE FIRST, THE LAST AND THE ONLY COPY WHICH ACTUALLY HAS THE STEREO LABEL, ACTUALLY PLAYS STEREO (AND GLORIOUS WIDE-CHANNEL STEREO, TO BOOT -- IF YOU EXCLUDE THE INSTRUMENTAL CHANNEL - TYPICALLY THE RIGHT ONE - YOU CAN PRACTICALLY LISTEN TO LENNON AND/OR McCARTNEY DOING ACAPPELLA) AND LISTS 'LOVE ME DO' AND 'P.S. I LOVE YOU' ON THE LABELS. RARE RECORDS TRULY DON'T GET ANY RARER THAN THIS. AS VINYL RARITY GOES, THIS IS TRULY A GROUND ZERO.

·                   CONDITION:

·                   RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          CAUTION! The vinyl is only VERY GOOD (-)- TO VERY GOOD, with multiple, numerous, small scuffs and scratches which are BOTH visible AND audible. The record plays with light and tolerable BUT AUDIBLE surface noise and occasional pops and clicks. The record plays without skipping throughout. This record WAS play-graded.

(b)          Important disclosure: VISUALLY, THE RECORD IS VERY GOOD. HOWEVER, WE CAUTION THAT a bad groove causes the record to skip two (possibly three) times on side 1.  The buyer can probably correct this by using a different stylus, adjusting the proper tone arm calibration,  tracking force or pressure.

(c)           The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(d)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 3  (front side) and 5 (back side)

-         Back cover has a few yellowish dust speckles scattered here and there (these tiny spots are not overly obtrusive or distracting)

-         Cover has some tiny, faint, barely visible writing on its back side (original owner assumed that the track listing on the cover is incorrect and wrote what he thought would be the correct two tracks (Love me do and PS I love  you) over the ACTUALLY correctly listed tracks (Please Please Me and Ask Me Why). The "correction", of course, is incorrect. The writing has been almost completely erased and faded and is difficult to discern.

-         Cover shows some light yellowing on back side, apparently from aging  (nothing significant).

-         Visible shelf wear noted on the bottom seam.

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the top seam (nothing significant)

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  / bent

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine  (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY) .

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
