Description

I am offering a copy of Introducing the Beatles on Vee Jay Records # VJLP 1062. It goes without saying that this the most counterfeited record in history. I am not an expert on this record but it passes most of the tests I know about and I have sold other copies before.

I will tell that it came from a group of Beatles LP's I purchased in Harrisonburg, Virginia from an estate their. There was no attempt to sell it on it’s own.  So it was from an individual collector from the right time period. Here is what I can tell you about it:

There is a shadow next to George Harrison

The back cover contains Ask Me Why and Please Please Me

There is no issue with the lettering on the word Honey on the back cover

Label has “The Beatles” and the title “Introducing the Beatles” above the center hole

Back cover list contents in two columns

The vinyl trail-off-the gap between the end of  the last track and the edge of the label measures less than 1 inch.

This is the Mono version which was less counterfeited than the Stereo version

There is no brown border around the front cover

There are no red, yellow and blue dots under the top of the back cover

It has a white inner sleeve with the correct wear for age

 Details about the record:

The cover has some wear but is in decent shape. The top seam has no splits and only a couple spots of rub wear, the spine has no splits but does have some rubwear. It has vee jay at the top, Introducing the Beats in the middle and vee jay at the bottom. At the very bottom it has LP 1062. There are also 4 black spots at various intervals along the spine. The bottom seam has some rub wear and a split from right to left about 1 inch. There is no tape on the cover or writing. There is a Vee Jay oval logo in upper left of the front cover and LP 1062 in the lower right corner. Cover is a little dirty from age on both sides.

White inner sleeve has browned some from age, but no tears or writing.

I am going to be cautious and grade this vinyl between strong VG+ and VG++. The vinyl is  strong with some marks which bring condition down from a higher grade.  It has a very nice rainbow label and Introducing the Beatles and The Beatles are above the center hole. It is the Vee Jay bracket label.

In the deadwax 63-3402-1 is etched along with ARC 2-10-4 on side one and 63-3403 and ARC 2-11-4 on side two.

I have included three audio clips back to back will help you determine condition.

Here is some additional information from the deadwax.

On side 1 in the deadwax: 63-3402-1, next is URJ, then ARC, then 2-10-4, then what appears to be 2 single lines and AB.

On side 2 in the deadwax: 63-3403, then URJ, then ARC, then 2-11-4, then what appears to be 2 single lines and AB.

At the bottom before the 63-3403 numbers on both sides there appears to be 7 dots and then a line beneath the dots.

Everything in the deadwax is etched, not stamped.
