Description

The title of this vinyl album is:  INTRODUCING THE BEATLES, England's No. 1 Vocal Group.

It was produced by Vee-Jay records in 1964 (VJLP 1062) and is known as the first Beatles album released in the United States.

There are many versions of this album, including many fakes and counterfeit copies.  This is an original.  I bought it when I was 12 years old. It was the first album I ever purchased.

Research reveals that this album by Vee-Jay records is version 2, which is signified by the two changed songs on the song list.

Songs on Side 1:

I Saw Her Standing There

Misery

Anna

Chains

Boys

Ask Me Why

Songs on Side 2:

Please, Please Me

Baby It's You

Do You Want to Know a Secret?

A Taste of Honey

There's a Place

Twist and Shout

Other factors confirming the album's authenticity are:

  • The placement of VJ VEE-JAY RECORDS, followed by the title of the album, INTRODUCING THE BEATLES, followed by THE BEATLES, is printed ABOVE the spindle hole.
  •  The shadow of George Harrison can be clearly seen on the album cover.
  • The dead wax area on the vinyl is no more than 1"
  • Block logo.
The labels are Black with Silver text.
The numbers inscribed on the dead wax area on Side 1 are:  63-3402. The numbers inscribed on the dead wax area on Side 2 are:  63-3403.
The album is in good vintage condition with some minor scratches on the vinyl record. The cover of the album is in good condition, except where the price tag was peeled off. The bottom seam of the album cover is split almost half way but it is still structurally intact.   There is some shelf wear. The top seam doesn't have any splits. The side seam is solid and says:  VEE JAY     INTRODUCING THE BEATLES         VEE JAY The back of the album cover has my name printed on it and it lists the songs on Side one and Side two.  It does not have any ads on it. The inner dust sleeve is included, but it is not the original dust sleeve.
