Description
[THIS WEEK’S RECORDS are all samples from the great HOWARD FELDMAN (1917 – 1991) Folk Music Collection. Howard was a fierce advocate of progressive, humanistic causes, and he didn’t care a whit if you accused him of being a Communist or a Socialist, because he would SAY SO to your face, and defy you to do something about it. He also had a deep appreciation for “People’s Music.” He would seek out the purest Folk melodies, sifting through what he called “escapist bullshit!” (always with an exclamation mark) to find the untrampled flower. He only kept Fred Astaire or Paul Whiteman records around as prime examples of “Corporate Capitalist Sellouts.” His hero was Paul Robeson. I spent many an evening with “Dutch Uncle” Howard, and I lived for and savored the rare moments when he would reluctantly admit that some of the “Escapist Bullshit!” I liked was not so bad after all! ]
HERE ARE four sides by two similar Irish trios. One is by the McNAMARA TRIO; the other un-named group is TOM ENNIS, JAMES MORRISON and JOHN MULLER. The instrumentation is consistent on both: Fiddle, Flute and Piano.

These original 1923 Red Brick Vocalions are EE- as I've already said, so WHY am I saying it again? Geez.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
