Following the huge success of their second record, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, Iron Butterfly scored a second hit with Ball.
While it didn't have any acid rock freak-out to compare with the epic "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," Ball was a more ambitious album, as the group experimented with shorter, more melodic songs.
Like any Iron Butterfly album, the quality of the material is wildly inconsistent, yet cut for cut, Ball is a more consistent album than their two previous records, as the group trimmed away some of the acid rock excesses of their earlier records while retaining their brutally loud trademark heavy guitars

Both labels are clean and unmarked with just one/two spindle traces per side
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are clean and even under bright light there is barely a wispy hairline to be seen
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Superb sound quality with a nice loud cut which delivers crystal clear, clean, deep, rich sound.
And my play-check at volume found practically nothing to fault.
No loud clicks or pops, just an occasional one-off static tick noted (nothing really) but I did not clean this copy as it looks so immaculate so these will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spins.
A great record and one very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD
Only given a VG because the original owner reinforced the corners and central spine with clear tape (which has yellowed with age) otherwise, just general light rub and some ink transfer (from the original printing) on the inside of the gatefold
