With its droning minor-key riff and mumbled vocals, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" is arguably the most notorious song of the acid rock era.
According to legend, the group was so stoned when they recorded the track that they could neither pronounce nor end "In the Garden of Eden", so it rambles on for a full 17 minutes (an unlikely urban myth as the playing is so tight and focused).
But that's the essence of its appeal -- it's the epitome of heavy psychedelic excess, encapsulating the most indulgent tendencies of the era.
The five tracks that share space with their magnum opus qualify as fine psych, and the entire record still stands as the group's definitive album.

LABELS: EXCELLENT+
Clean, bright labels with just a few tightly packed spindle traces
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT+
Both sides shine like new with just some harmless hairlines/brush marks
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+/EXCELLENT
Plays beautifully throughout with a clean, sharp cut and my play-check at volume found little to fault - nothing on Side One with just an odd one-off tick on Side Two - nothing really - sounds great
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+
General light rub front and back but all edges are sharp and all text on the pinched spine is clear and bold - original owners name is written small in top back corner (please see close-up photographs) - a fine example
