Description
Fear of the Dark is the ninth studio album by the band Iron Maiden, It was released on May 11, 1992, ranking number 1 in the British ranking. The album spawned three singles, "Be Quick or Be Dead" (released on April 13 of the same year, ranking No. 1), "From Here to Eternity" (released June 29, ranking No. 21) and "Wasting Love" in the month of September. This album marked an important milestone: it would be the last one they would record with Bruce Dickinson until their reunion for Brave New World, the vocalist would be replaced by an old acquaintance of the band, Blaze Bayley. Anyone who knows the Iron Maiden discography (even visually) will immediately notice that Eddie the Head (the icon of the group) who appears on the cover is not the cartoonish one seen on previous album covers. That's because the character's creator, Derek Riggs, did not participate in the design of the illustration, he was replaced by Melvyn Grant (the same one who would draw the Virtual XI album cover).
