ORIGINAL 1980 Sanctuary 12" Single EP.
Record Label: EMI
First edition top opening sleeve.
Unlike many bands, IRON MAIDEN are one of the very few that gave fans unreleased B-Sides & Live tracks on their singles. In this case, you get 2 live tracks, one of which is a cover song.
A-Side: Sanctuary & Prowler
B-Side: Drifter (LIVE) & I've Got the Fire (LIVE cover of a Montrose song).
UNCENSORED cover with Eddie standing over the body of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Later versions placed a black bar over the eyes of Margaret in an attempt to hide her identity.
Sleeve is a high gloss thick paper (not a think paper sleeve but not quite a cardboard sleeve).
This version is one of the initial earlier pressing with an erroneous B-Side label (see pics). Note that the center label "A" side is correct however the B-Side center label is missing the "B" (this was corrected in later releases).
Additionally, the earlier versions center labels catalog number "LC0542" is printed in RED, while later editions were printed in Black.
Back cover lower left corner also has a faintly blacked-out area. Later editions have a tour date of "5 Oktober".
Vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition. No skips or jumps.
Sleeve has minor cosmetic blemishes. Minor sleeve wear in the rounded shape of the vinyl record. Upper corner edge of the sleeve has a slight chip.
