Another from my personal colllection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years! Here is an original 1st UK pressing of Iron Maiden 'Powerslave' album 1984, their fifth studio album to be released in the UK!  Both sides feature the Master Pressers signature! (Earliest for the best possible audio quality on vinyl in my opinion) The vinyl was only ever played one time when purchased from new to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! This is an archive copy Looks and sounds as a new vinyl would in my opinion! Very very rare to find like this! The audio quality is as good as it gets in my opinion! Absolutely stunning crystal clear and vibrant throughout without any interference at all on my systems! You could not hope for a better sounding copy in my personal opinion! No clicks no pops no distortion absolutely stunning Near as Mint Audio Archive! The original 1st issue record sleeve and cover are also in exceptional condition through out just look at my photos!

Powerslave is the fifth studio album by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on 3 September 1984 on EMI in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in North America.




It was re-released by Sanctuary/Columbia Records in the US in 2002.




It is notable for its Ancient Egyptian theme displayed in the cover artwork, lifted from the title track, which was carried over to the album's supporting tour.




The World Slavery Tour' began in Warsaw, Poland on 9 August 1984, and is widely regarded as being the band's longest and most arduous to date, and lead to the live album Live After Death.




The release also contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", which uses pieces of the original poem as lyrics and is, furthermore, Iron Maiden's longest song to date (at thirteen minutes and 40 seconds in length).




Powerslave is also notable as being the band's first album to feature the same lineup as the previous one, which would remain intact for two further studio releases.




"2 Minutes to Midnight" and "Aces High" were released as singles.




Following the conclusion of their highly successful World Piece Tour in December 1983, during which Iron Maiden headlined large venues and arenas in the US for the first time in their career, the band took three weeks off in January 1984 before regrouping in Jersey.




As with Powerslave's predecessor, Piece of Mind (1983), this was where most of the album's writing took place before the band began recording at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas.







Bassist Steve Harris recalled how, under time pressure, the song "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" was written in a relatively short space of time. Influenced by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem of the same name (drawing heavily from his 1815-16 gloss), the song directly quotes two passages from the poem, the former including the famous lines: 'Water, water everywhere - nor any drop to drink'.







At over thirteen minutes long, the track contains several distinct sections with differing moods, and would become a fan favourite. During the 2009-09 Somewhere Back in Time World Tour, guitarist Dave Murray, vocalist Bruce Dickinson and Harris cited the song as their favourite from that tour to play live.




Once finished, the band undertook another short break while the album was mixed at Electric Lady Studios, New York, before reconvening in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to rehearse for the World Slavery Tour. The tour began in Poland in August 1984 and ended in California in late 1985.[13] The stage set was an eye-opener, echoing the album cover, including monumental pedestals several stories high atop which the musicians appeared at times during the show. The set amply filled even the gigantic proscenium of Radio City Music Hall. It was also the first time a heavy metal band had taken a full set behind the Iron Curtain, visiting Poland and Hungary, a landmark achievement at the time. The tour continued into South America for the first time where they played to an estimated audience of 300,000 at the inaugural Rock in Rio as special guests to the band Queen

The Vinyl

On initial inspection there isn't much to say about the vinyl this looks almost as new in my opinion! I can hardly see a blemish! The Vinyl lies perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from any warping, (Very important because these early eighties vinyls are very prone to warping if they were not stored correctly)! Any marks that could be possibly be seen looked under strong light would be sleeve removal marks! Try to find better after 30 years! Points to note!  These vinyls have been stored seperately in poly sleeves during its storage life which has preserved this vinyl all of these years this is how i have always stored my vinyls!

The Audio Quality

I have played the vinyl track for track and recorded the actual album for you to hear in the player above! The audio is astoundingly clear and vibrant and the separation is to die for. Only found like this on the earliest UK pressings and pressings that have been barely ever played in my opinion! There is no distortion or signs that this has been overplayed at all, in fact this vinyl has only ever been played one time ever!  NO crackle or distortion no loud clicks or pops noted during the play of this vinyl! Audio Graded Near As Mint in my opinion!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! This album has been laying dormant in a case for over 30 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static/ticks/crackle! A constant cleaning before each play is highly recommended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

Please allow for isolated static type ticks that may be heard in the odd place during the play of this vinyl! (not consistant throughout the audio) Please remmember that this is an original 30 years old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 30 year old system!

THIS AUDIO WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS! TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES! THE AUDIO IS CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT WITH (NO) LOUD CONSTANT CLICKS OR POPS OR THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED (NO) DISTORTION CERTAINLY (NO) SKIPS OR JUMPS!

The Labels

These are the original 1st UK issue custom EMI labels in superb if not in as near new condition! In fact I find it hard to see any spider marks around the spindle hole This looks totally unplayed in my opinion! This vinyl has barely ever been played at all No more than one time ever by me only! There is no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round! You can still see the plastic in the spindle hole! Very rare for 30 years old like this!

This is the original picture lyric record sleeve (no) splits or tares! In top condition!

The Cover

This is the original 1st issue EMI, super glossy appearance,  un laminated cover! Barcoded   (No real nasty creases to mention at all. Any minor lines to mention are at the spine but you have to look to notice in my opinion. No nasty marks worth to mention all text is legible  (see photo) Superbe square spine has not suffered from nasty crushing! (very hard to find!) Points to note! Any edge rubbing is very minor indeed and again you have to look to notice, other marks or points you really would have to look to notice! No real ring wear to mention and no nasty edge rubbing wear that is so common on these  covers! Very hard to find like this! , believe me.!

I would grade this cover at least excellent plus to Near as Mint a true archive in my opinion!
