Two Remastered Black Vinyl LP's in Gatefold Jacket. Limited to Only 1,480 Made!
Double Vinyl LP Remastered Pressing of this 2002 album from the American Post-Metal monsters. Showcasing a band at the height of a monumental transition, Oceanic is hailed by fans as the band's landmark album and has earned widespread critical acclaim (even being dubbed seminal by Drowned in Sound). Raising the massive bridge between crushing Metal and atmospheric Post-Rock, Isis truly came into their own on their brilliant sophomore album. This stunning double-LP comes housed in a heavyweight tip-on gatefold jacket and has been carefully re-mastered and re-cut for optimal sound quality.
“ Oceanic” was composed: as a metaphor for the (age-old) human longing for the dissolution of his limited and therefore excruciating existence into something larger, elementary. The search for cross-border experiences presented here does not end in the disaster, but in redemption: a person falls freely towards the path. surface of the water and finds its way back to the absolute freedom of being through the hard serve and the associated destruction of his physical prison. Isis thus neither deliver a gloomy world's vision, nor the description of a suicide, but reinterpret - strictly speaking - an ancient myth, which in his metaphysical dimensions want to be understood: a promise of something greater just beyond (or below) the water's final horizon...
The musical implementation of this does indeed make the album an extraordinary experience." - Fan of This Album.
