Description
Available here is a 12" white label vinyl LP which was produced by Island Records, presumably in 1971, as a sales rep’s sampler. As such, it was touted around the record shops in order to generate interest and sales for forthcoming releases. It was not commercially available to the public and was simply an in-house product and probably produced in very small quantities. Such items are incredibly rare and hardly ever seem to surface.
The record comes in a plain white card sleeve, which may or may not be original and the only marks on the record are the matrix numbers REP+1A and REP+1+B stamped on the inner rings of the record. I have only twice previously seen direct evidence of this type of record and one of them had a separate printed information sheet detailing the artists and tracks. This one has no such information but the information below lists what’s on this record, derived from a combination of personal knowledge and research.

Vinyl Condition - Very Good- - Quite heavy vinyl at 165 gms, the record is pretty bright and clean with three or four light surface marks but no worrying scratches. I’ve listened all the way through and while there is no sticking there was a minor half-jump to one track. Periodic clicks will also be heard along with varying levels of background crackle and noise. It’s not excessive but certainly noticeable at times and probably a little worse during the middle part of the second side.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Plain white card sleeve, which as stated, may or may not be original.

If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting.
