IVAN (With BUDDY HOLLY on guitar)
"REAL WILD CHILD" b/w "OH YOU BEAUTIFUL DOLL"
CORAL (45-62017) 45 rpm (1958)
Because of its importance, I'll be very specific with the description:
(A) LABELS: Untouched. No rips or tears, no stickers or residue of any removed stickers. Both sides glossy with a slight hint of wear at the high points of the label(s) but as you can see in the pictures, nothing of concern. A small "miss" just above the word "Wild" at the center hole circumference that doesn't appear to be from misuse or neglect. No grime or scratches. Opinion: Labels are close to perfect and have remained strong and presentable.
(B) VINYL: Shows areas of visual surface scuffs, more-so on the "A" side with no scratches or deep gouges. Shows general wear, no abused wear but usage signs conducive to not being meticulously cared for. "B" side shows no scuffs yet does show mild webs. Both sides show general limited play but not played to death. Since it is an upbeat song, signs of play generally show more. Both sides show a nice gloss and shine. Opinion: For its obscurity, the vinyl shows well and have no problem bragging about owning it. I generally am particular about condition, yet in some cases I consider and allow for inherit flaws.
(C) PLAYBACK: Virtually the first time playing since I acquired it maybe twenty years ago. Actually sounds strong, clear and without snaps or pops and no dreaded skips. Since it's an upbeat arrangement, any sounds from condition are not heard. Slight hiss and snaps at the end run-off grooves but nothing serious. I've heard worse sounding vinyl that appears in better condition. Opinion: Would I use this 45 as a master to download and record it? Absolutely!
