CLASSIC ROCK N ROLL SONG BACKED WITH SUPERB ROCK N ROLL ERA SOULFUL BALLAD COVERED BY MANY ARTISTS AT THE TIME AND LATER. RECORDED IN USA BY ATLANTIC RECORDS AND ISSUED HERE IN MINIMAL QUANTITIES ON 78RPM ON COLUMBIA AND 45RPM EQUIVALENT SHOWN HERE VERY FEW EVER MADE AND WOULD NOT HAVE REMAINED STOCKED FOR LONG AND NO DOUBT DELETED FROM COLUMBIA'S LISTS AND FROM THE CATALOGUE TO MAKE WAY FOR MILLION SELLING TONY BRENT AND EDDIE FISHER ITEMS!! ONE OF THE GEMS OF THE 1950s ROCK N ROLL SUB-CULTURE DAYS!!
Condition - The record is in NEAR MINT CONDITION on the ROCKIN AND ROLLIN side...very nice sheen and very well looked after...plays as such. So much clarity and high fidelity here...really warm sound on a classic 50 year old+ record. The other side is in excellent shape too and save for an inch long grey/silvery mark on the wax, would be visually graded as such. However, this does not interfere with the sound. I don't know if it's a heat mark or something has had to be cleaned off the 45 in the past but it only intrudes slighly in the visual aspect of the 45 and not aurally. Overall a very nice record and very rare in any shape.
Labels are in fantastic shape save for a miniscule hardly noticeable tear on the ballad side that does not meet the text under the centre area of the record. Both labels fully readable, clear and free from writing, stickers, labels and wear...very nice. No centre but this has been taken out carefully enough for there not to be any problems...this was what appears to have been a jukebox record but oddly is in great shape unlike most ex jukebox platters.
Period sleeve is in very good shape and fits with the year of release with the record. Very nice item overall.
As to real rarity and value I will let you bidders decide...!!
