I love the Pruits Twins and wish that they could have recorded more.
This 78 has a crack across the label, ‘stopped’ to prevent it entering the grooves but there are some light clicks at the close of “Down The Road Bound Blues”. It does play very well but for the aforementioned clicks, it grades hits E-. While the take of “Down The Road Bound Blues” is clearly visible in the run-off, it’s not the case with “Mean Lovin’ Man Blues” – looks to me like a -6!
The label itself has been cleaned, badly, to a washed out blue which has blurred some of the label detail.
