2012 Columbia reissue featuring both Bowie's '73 and Iggy's '97 mixes and mastered by Kevin Gray aka KPG
Not to be mistaken with more recent ~2017 2xLP sets, this is currently the ONLY way to hear the Iggy mix on vinyl without distortion, thx to Kevin!
This copy has only been played once. I Degritter cleaned both discs and swapped out the rubbish paper inners for poly jobs. Playback is - for a pair of URP plant pressings - surprisingly close to flawless. Theres the odd light tic on both discs that doesnt bother me but the one instance of poor press evidence is a rotational light thud on the intro to side one of the second disc. Once the raw powered music starts, this is inaudible to me. With a subsonic filter it might even be gone, but its really hardly worth mentioning anyway. I just like to be fair!
The gatefold jacket has the only real issue in the form of a good creasing to the top left corner. Shown in the images, its annoying but hasnt split apart. The jacket still feels sturdy and ready to serve many years. It does remain clean and in the factory shrink wrap. Booklet is present and correct and immaculate.
A super copy notwithstanding a crease, experience this album at its best on vinyl as it may never sound this good again! Selling purely as its an unused backup.
