||| Evidently recorded in one session w/ the quartet of Sonny Clark, Milt Hinton & Art Blakey doing three selections: I’ve Got a Crush on You / Nancy / Easy Living. And creating a sextet by adding Stanley Turrentine & trombonist Bennie Green for the other three tracks: See Rider / Congo Lament / Que’s Pill.

 

|| Ike and Stanley were busy around Blue Note at this time (Dec.61-Jan.62) and so what would a natural pairing must have been made easier. As an aside; the notes point out the sad fact that both Quebec & Clark died within days of one another the following January. Although none of this album was released in its own time, the sextet portion of this session is previously issued on the LT Series as “Congo Lament”.
