THE COMPLETE BLUE NOTE FORTIES RECORDINGS OF IKE QUEBEC AND JOHN HARDEE, Mosaic MR4-107, 4 LP's in box with booklet. #1442 of a limited edition of 5000.
This magnificent set from Mosaic contains 49 classic sides recorded 1944-1948, 14 released for the first time in this set.
On the 16 tracks by John Hardee, the musicians are Hardee (tenor sax), Trummy Young (trombone), Tiny Grimes, Jimmy Shirley (guitar), Sammy Benskin, Marlowe Morris (piano), Bill Bivens (vibes), John Simmons, Gene Ramey, Jimmy Butts (bass), Sid Catlett, Eddie Nicholson (drums).
The tunes are Tired, Blue Skies, Hardee's Partee (2 takes), Idaho (2 takes), What Is This Thing Called Love, Nervous From the Service, River Edge Rock (2 takes), Sweet and Lovely, Flying Home Parts 1 & 2, Tiny's Boogie Woogie (2 takes).

Condition of records is E, no scuffs, no scratches, a few spindle marks. Box shows slight overall wear - no seam splits, no broken corners. Front and back sections of box are separated. Booklet is very clean.

M = Mint. Brand new, unplayed. We never use the term "mint" to describe a used record, no matter how clean the record is.
E = Excellent. Some evidence of having been played, with no audible defect. Shiny surface, no groove wear.
V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.

Shipments are made on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. Records which have been paid for by 3:00 PM on the day before will be shipped on those days.
