Black label with silver text, deep groove. 11 tracks. Leader, Illinois Jacquet, tenor sax on all tracks. 7 tracks recorded in LA in 1951. Also includes, Russell Jacquet, trumpet (vocal on 1 track); Carl Perkins, piano; Oscar Moore, guitar; Red Callender, bass; J.C. Heard or Lee Abrams, drums. Others in the brass section are unknown. 4 tracks recorded in NY in 1952 also include Russell Jacquet, Joe Newman, Elmon Wright, Lamar Wright, trumpets; Ernie Henry, Earl Warren, alto sax; Count Hastings, tenor sax; Cecil Payne or Pee Wee Moore, baritone sax; John Acea, piano; Freddie Green, guitar; Ray Brown, bass; Al Lucas, bass; Shadow Wilson,drums.
Cover: Good(-) Entire top edge and spine have split. Very light aging on the back cover. Please note that the white spot on Jacquet's saxophone is from the camera flash.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. No markings on the vinyl surface. The record has an unplayed appearance. On Side A, Track 5, 2 clicks. On Side B , Track 2, slight groove noise on the first 2 or 3 revolutions followed by 2 faint light clicks. Fine, collectable condition.
