King K12-916 by The Impacs: A Weekend With the Impacs. Extremely rare frat/surf Lp on King. Original black label pressing. No horns on this, all guitar and vocals, with organ and harmonica on a couple of tracks, rippling drumming, and a couple of guitar instros. Some Hank Ballard covers and band originals. This band would have been very successful on the southern college circuit with their combination of rocking R&B covers and original dance tunes. The cover is very clean overall, with little or no wear on the front cover, and very slight wear on the back cover. In keeping with Kings sometimes bizarre cover artwork, the red accents on the suits of the band members on the back cover are factory printed, although at first glance they seem to be magic marker graffiti, The spine is intact, and the top and bottom seams have been very neatly clear taped after splitting. Very neat job. There is a pale ink pen name along the top edge on both front and back. Labels clean with about a dozen spindle marks on one side and a less on the other. The vinyl is very glossy with a few stray scuffs and hairlines. This plays very strong and very enjoyably. Grade cover VG+. Grade vinyl a very strong VG+, almost ++. This lp is indeed rare.
