The motion picture, written and created by George Lucas / composed and conducted by John Williams, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark was the only score in the Indiana Jones series performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, the same orchestra that performed the scores for George Lucas' Star Wars saga. The soundtrack is most notable for its inclusion of the iconic and now ubiquitous 'Raiders March,' which came to symbolize Indiana Jones and was later used in the scores for all subsequent films in the series. The film was nominated for Eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score.

The London Symphony Orchestra includes: John Williams as conductor. The original score written by John Williams also. Recorded at Anvil Recording Studios, Denham, England and EMI Abbey Road Studio No. 1, London, England in February 1981.

The Greatest Indiana Jones Soundtrack! If you are a fan of great movie soundtracks you will be pleased with this one. One of John Williams best. Sounds like the original Star Wars soundtrack with certain differences. Hear it loud you feel like you are watching the movie. Great orchestral score, exciting, spooky, romantic, and funny. All the emotions anyone should feel when watching a great movie and listening to a great soundtrack.
