Description
Infidels 'A Place in History' 7" P/S. Post-punk; synth-wave, very rare 1981.
Extremely rare 7" single from Infidels. Mint unplayed, signed copy.
'A Place in History' c/w 'Along the Riverbank' (as featured on 'A Tribute to Some Bizarre Vol 11').
Monochrome gatefold pic sleeve (plain white inside) which features a now-iconic photo of the band standing in the middle of the M23/M25 interchange at Reigate Hill whilst it was being built !
The inner record sleeve is signed in the bottom left corner by the band's singer. Condition is mint unplayed, but the sleeve may show light distortion and the white inner may have very slight yellowing (barely noticable) which is commensurate with the record's age.
Much played by the late, great John Peel. Experimental synth and groundbreaking vocal style on 'A Place in History' which proved an influence for many other groups. The B-side 'Along the Riverbank' is more familiar territory for the band with its dark bass line and haunting, relentless guitar work.
As a footnote for all you discophiles out there, this record was mastered at London's legendary Portland Studios and so bears the inscription 'A Porky Prime Cut' on the run-out groove.
