INTRODUCING LEE MORGAN
RARE & COLLECTIBLE JAZZ LP
A highly collectible album featuring the introduction of Lee Morgan, a must for the serious jazz collector.
This is an album from an extensive collection of early jazz albums that I will be selling for a Vermont client, so look back often to take advantage of a wonderful collection.
This is the original 1956 USA issue and would be a nice addition to your collection.
RECORD - graded a VG+
On viewing the album shows very well, closer inspection reveals minimal light scuffs and light hairline scatches (can't feel with fingernail) that don't effect the listening experience. Side A has some light vinyl discoloring spots (loss of gloss?) in one quadrant only visible when the album is angled just right under a bright light.
labels are solidly attached with some label wear (side A has a tiny area at top where it is partially torn and shows some wear marks). The runout areas have the correct etchings (see pictures)
I put this album on my turntable just to get an idea of the audio quality and was so pleased with the music quality I listened to the entire album. The album plays great with no distortion, skipping or other major audible defects. There is an occassional light crackle (dust noise), more noticable on side B. This noise, attributed to some dust and static, can be cured with a thourough cleaning. The music is still crisp and deep, an excellent LP to listen to.
COVER - graded a VG
still has original shrinkwrap (one small tear in shrinkwrap on lower front of cover) - closeout price sticker on front shrinkwrap. no split seams in cover - opening edge has some chipping and corner wear (see pictures) Top right has a 5" crease which shows up in the pictures.
CLEANING
I do a cautionary cleaning only, some light brushing with an approved audio carbon fiber brush and minimal use of audio cleaning solution if warranted. I do not professionally clean my records, I leave that up to the new owners.
GRADING
I utilize the industry standard for grading, Goldmine's, and I tend to grade conservatively.
PACKING
All records are shipped outside their covers, in new sleeves, packed between 2 sturdy corrugated cardboard flats and mailed in an approved record mailer.
