Description
Here is a first pressing of the 1st US album by the Beatles. Version I issues are 10 times more rare than version II and most prove to be counterfeits. This one is real. The disk has 3/4 to 7/8 deadwax with AudioMatrix stamp. The date is 6-29-63. The cover has 1/4" foldover inside. The first issue covers have a deeper clearer front. The rest can be seen in the photos. The original ad sleeve is included.
VJLP-1062 - mono - 1963
The disk is VG. (please note my grading chart below. To me, VG means very good, not bad) It has some lines and minor scuffs but plays quite nice with only light surface noise between tracks. There is one small audible scratch on 'Love Me Do'. Since version one issues play so hot and clear (compared to version 2) nothing distracts in play anyway. I will stick with my VG, though some areas play VG+. Playback is quite nice. "Love Me Do' is the only issue. Hopefully the buyer will be quite pleased. I try to address all issues for the sake of honesty and square trade. The cover is solid and the rich photo is striking. It shows 43 years of shelfwear but is quite nice. The top seam seems to have been repaired. The spine is crisp.The bottom seam has 3/4" split, but pretty minor. The inner ad sleeve is a little tattered and split half way down one side. I will keep the record out of it and in a separate sleeve.
I ship records properly, 'disk out of cover' in a 2 ml poly sleeve and sent in a cardboard LP mailer. Questions are welcomed. Bid with confidence.
VINYL GRADING
M- = a pristine record. Displays NO marks, appears to be unplayed.
NM = a near mint record. May have VERY minor marks that can ONLY be seen in bright light and plays with NO surface noise.
EX = a sweet record. May have only a few micro-sleeve lines or minor superficial marks that do NOT affect play. NM-
VG+ = a well-kept record. May have superficial marks but plays with MINIMAL surface sound ONLY in quiet passages if any at all.
VG = a nice used record. Has visible marks, light scratches and MINOR surface noise only in quiet passages but is still a very good listening experience.
VG- = a well-used record. Has marks, minor scratches, some surface noise, but still plays through with NO skips and is still enjoyable. This grade is only sold by me if the record is a rare collectable.

On Nov-26-06 at 10:02:19 PST, seller added the following information: I always use basic photos on my listings. On the label photo, the green was lost trying to make the yellow not look white. It has green. Please read details in the question below. I realise many are cautious with this record. If it is not real, I am the most fooled. Everything checks out. I have never seen a counterfeit with an AudioMatrix or MR stamp. Most fakes are stereo for obvious reasons. Feel free to go to the website mentioned in the question.
