Description

The Beatles     "Introducing The Beatles"

This is a US vinyl pressing on Vee Jay LP 1062 from 1964.      This was their first album issued by Vee Jay Records.      This is the Mono pressing.        The song titles are listed on the back cover in two columns.       The labels list and the record plays the version one songs : "Love Me Do" and "P. S. I Love You".       The labels are black with rainbow colorband and "Vee Jay" in an oval.

In the Bruce Spizer Beatles Guides the cover is VJ1062 (1) MC3, with song titles printed on the back cover.          The record is VJ1062 (1) MR1B, with left justified song titles and songwriter credits and "Vee Jay" in oval.  

This has a genuine original cover.         The printing on the left spine says : " Vee Jay    Introducing The Beatles   Vee Jay  LP1062 ".     You can see George's shadow on the front cover on the right.       Inside the cover there are 1/4 inch inside flaps at top and bottom.        It comes with a genuine original record.      The label's rainbow colorband has all of the correct colors.     The inner groove is 7/8 inch wide.       The labels list and the records plays the correct version one songs : "Love Me Do" and "P. S. I Love You".      "Introducing The Beatles" and "The Beatles" are printed above the spindle hole.         The matrix numbers are hand etched : Side 1 :   A   63-3402  triangle 5702  6-29-63 with machine stamped "MR" in a circle and tiny cursive 'audio matrix'.    Side 2 :  hand etched :  A    63-3403   triangle 5702-X   6-29-63 with machine stamped "MR" in a circle and tiny cursive 'audio matrix'.      The record was manufactured by Monarch Records.

The songs are : I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Anna, Chains, Boys, Love Me Do, P. S. I Love You, Baby It's You, Do You Want To Know A Secret ?, A Taste Of Honey, There's A Place, and Twist And Shout.

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG /  Record is VG

The cover is VG with no seam splits.         There is tiny bottom seam wear, small wear on the bottom right corner, a faded name on the front at top right, a tiny rub on the back cover at bottom center, two inches of wear on the back top right edge, and very light overall wear.          The vinyl looks VG and it plays VG+, with many light handling marks.      There is light static between the songs and no pops.         Both labels have a faded name in the yellow part of the colorband and no spindle marks.       There is a small smudge on the Side 2 label between the green and the yellow that looks like it came from the factory that way.           The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.       If the winner is in the USA, I will pay for insurance and signature security.
