737. VINTAGE 78 RPM RECORD ~ COLUMBIA 1694-D
ARTIST: Ipana Troubadours (Sam Lanin)
TITLES: I’ll Get By / Rose of Mandalay (both have unlisted vocals by Bing Crosby, A-1 stamper used on “I’ll”)
GRADE: V (Very Good)
CONDITION: The labels are bright and readable with light scuffs, small scratches, light wear around label edges and spindle holes, and a small dark spot on upper left edge of “I’ll”.
The record surfaces have light scuffs, small scratches, some graying, a small short edge lam on “I’ll”, an edge chip (not in grooves) and some short edge lams on “Rose”. This item plays with lots of volume, excellent Columbia fidelity, and very light surface noise.

RECORDS ARE GRADED USING THE VJM RECORD GRADING SYSTEM:
N As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed);
N- Nearly Mint, but has been played, no visible signs of wear or damage;
E+ Plays like new, with very few signs of handling...may have a tiny scuff or a very light scratch from being slipped in and out of its sleeve, no surface noise;
E Still very shiny with little (if any) visible signs of wear...may have a few inaudible scuffs and scratches;
E- Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, a few visible light scratches and scuffs, very light surface noise, no skipping or repeating grooves;
V+ An average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat, wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion, light surface noise is audible but not overly pronounced;
V Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scuffs/scratches are visible and/or audible but not intrusive;
V- Quite playable still, but some distortion and heavy graying in loud passages...music remains loud in most passages with surface noise and scratches still below music level;
G+ Gray throughout but still serviceable, music begins to sound muffled with surface noise near music level...heavy scratches and scuffs are visible;
G Quite seriously worn and scratched, may have a crack but item is still playable.
