Description

Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death  2LP  UK/Europe  2006  EMI ?  372 3211 / 0946 3 72321 1 8

Limited edition double picture disc.   European issue/pressing in title-stickered gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves.

From my own personal collection and purchased new within the first week of release.  I take a lot of pride in looking after my vinyl collection and this item has been very cared for.  The most any side has been played is only several times, and the album cover has been kept in an outer protective plastic sleeve since purchase.   The vinyl surfaces easily look EX+/NrMINT.   As you may know, the sound quality of picture discs doesn't compare to regular vinyl.  Personally, I find it hard to grade the sound quality of brand new picture discs much higher than EX.   With this in mind, playing condition for sides 1, 2 & 4 is VG, whilst side3 is GOOD (Record Collector mag definition of good).  I have recently play-tested the album.   Some audible surface noise/light crackle on the few quieter sections, as you would expect with picture discs, but when the band 'rock-out', playing condition is easily EX.   Side3 sounds noticeably fuzzy.  I took the record back and exchanged it, but the replacement sounded exactly the same.  This may occur on all copies of this album(?), but most dealers either don't know, or won't mention this.  Ironically, I recall that side3 sounded better with a cheaper spherical (S) tipped stylus.  However, I no longer have an S-type stylus to check this.  Please be assured the vinyl has not been mistreated or excessively played.    Album cover is a strong NrMINT. Just a couple of minor tiny creases.   Both inner sleeves are NrMINT as well.   If you are a collector of picture discs for their visual appeal, the condition of this copy is ideal for you, as the whole thing still looks practically new.  In no rush to sell.  Reluctantly selling...time for someone else to enjoy owning.
