Description

Iron Maiden First Ten Years vinyl set all 10 double gatefold singles. Condition is Very Good +. Sent with Australia Post Standard (I may be willing to consider posting internationally. Please message me if you have queries)

The First Ten Years is a series of 10 double 12 inch singles by Maiden, released between 24 February and 28 April 1990, in commemoration of the band's ten-year recording anniversary, drawn from the first six albums in the band's catalogue: Killers, Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. A very special time for the band, when it had settled on its key line up (Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith and Dave Murray) and had perfected its showmanship elements of their live shows with elaborate stage props, and developed the narrative driven for album artwork by Derek Riggs featuring the Iron Maiden mascot Eddie the Head.

Each double 12" contains two singles in double gatefold format, complete with original B-sides and artwork, as well as an edition of "Listen with Nicko", a spoken-word track in which drummer Nicko McBrain would recount the history behind each song specific to that release. This set does NOT include the mail order storage box.

This set was released over several weeks in 1990 to commemorate the first ten years of the band - who are celebrating their 40th year in 2020. A unique item for a collector. A complete set, and not just an individual 12 inch or two.

Condition of the gatefold covers and vinyl is Very Good +. One owner only (me. The items had been sealed into storage since the 1990s and recently handled again in order to take photos for this listing. I had rarely listened to the vinyl after making backup cassette copies.
