Description

An original and genuine 1st press of P.O.M. on UK EMI from 1983. Matrix A2/B1 - 1st cut. Etching "Utopia". Worth insisting on the earliest pressings as they are pressed a touch heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover - which is  NOT barcoded on the rear. Also included is the black card inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex) In super condition and shiny like new. Under close inspection I can't make out more than a couple of light marks per side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. An absolute banger! Excellent signal purity. It plays loud. It plays clear. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. You might detect a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side [e.g. openings moments of 'Still Life']. The only one thing I can really complain at, at all, is one brief and non-repeating jump/skip in the intro to 'Trooper'. It's in the duelling guitar section - very brief and not that noticeable. It, in fact, just sounds like the band plays a 'bum note' - that's all really.  Of course, it would be better without it - but it is brief and early on side 2 so it's out of the way quickly. If you can live with that one issue - the actual audio is guaranteed to blow-you-away.
Cover (Vg+) Might grade a shade higher but for a small edge split on the rear panel. Lovely shiny clean and flat front and rear. No signs of creasing at all really. The artwork benefit from the absence of the bar code - you're getting an unfettered full spread of the artwork. The interior is in excellent condition - no issues really. Edge wear is very slight except for the one issue mentioned above. There's a two inch top edge split [middle-top of rear panel]. It has been tape repaired neatly - so only of minor cosmetic issue. The spine is in excellent condition with all text legible. There's a very faint crease running down it - as is almost impossible to avoid on this title. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
