This is one of the best Christmas albums out there: the film score to the 1954 Paramount film, White Christmas. Joseph Lilley conducts the chorus and orchestra with the same arrangements as the film minus Rosemary Clooney. Peggy Lee is a fun substitute but you should also look for Clooney's album of songs from the film. The original Decca release and Clooney's Columbia issue are both collectors' items. This pink cover edition is more rare than the green cover. There is also a turquoise like cover from a later British reissue. The vinyl here is near mint (there is a surface mark at the end of the first selection on side one but it does not affect the sound) while the cover is just excellent as it has a small ding on the lower right corner ( see scan). This is a great album for the holiday season.

Because I listen to every record I sell (they are duplicates and triplicates from my collection) I have decided to keep this section on the album description short and concise. Previous buyers will notice that I have added the visual grading. Prior to this I was only using audio as I thought that was most important. However, it has become clear to me that many buyers want the record to look minty or excellent as well as sound the same. I have bought several mint records over the years that were visually graded as such but sounded less than or even skipped due to manufacturing issues. I have also purchased records that appeared just "good" to "very good" but sound excellent. I am not using the descriptor "mint" unless the record is still sealed and the use of "neat-mint" will be reserved for records that I know for certain have been played less than two times. Hopefully my conservative approach will help me be as accurate as possible to a very subjective grading medium.

I enjoy meeting new people interested in musicals through eBay and try as much as possible to make each transaction as fun as possible. As I teach theatre and art, create pottery, and write for a living, the money I receive from sales on eBay is negligible but I meet new musical-comedy aficionados this way as well as staying in the know about the value of the records in my own collection.
