Description
Gianni Mazza La Città No. 2
Fly Records AS 52
Recorded at The Sound Work Shop, Rome, 1971
Micro-Press Italian Library Grail and part 2 of Gianni Mazza’s deliriously funky soundtracking to life in the modern urban landscape enrolling the musical assistance of many heavy players from Italy’s 70’s Jazz scene. An uncredited Aldo Sinesio is also on hand here, with production duties with no further information known.
Fly Records released no more than 20 LP’s in all and remain highly sought after since all were micro-pressings.
In addition to Mazza’s 2 part La Città sessions, Fly is most notable for the extremely good and Looking Around and Mondo Operaio both by the legendary Quintetto Santucci-Scoppa and both released in the summer of same year. Fly became a label synonymous with collectors for their excellent Jazz Library recordings which is why they remain hugely difficult to find. Like all other Issues on Fly, La Città features that stunning and hypnotic artwork sleeve with it’s favoured minimalist typeset.

All items are posted with Royal Mail 1st Class with proof of postage, however these records are rare and valuable and I would advise insurance which guarantees a smooth and safe transaction. If you wish for this option please state this before payment and await my final invoice. Thanks... KL
