Description
Niki Sullivan was Buddy Holly's rhythmn guitarist with the Crickets until he got tired of touring in 1957 and quit. Niki played guitar on most of Buddy and the Crickets records and though not well known played the lead guitar (or break) on Reddy Teddy. In early 1958 he recorded "It's AllOver" backed with "Three Steps To Heaven" at Norman Petty's. It was released in April of 1958 and as they say "the rest is history". However, in this case it ain't stardom but a bust. The record did not sell well and his collaboration with Gene Evans in 1962 as the Hollyhawks on Jubilee also failed to hit. Although he had a couple of other releases in the sixties on Joli label his career just never got on track. He performed well into the nineties but I know of no other recordings that have been released. The sad part is that he was really good. A great singer and guitarist and he was a straight shooter. He died in April of 2004. This record I am sellingis in near mint condition and is the best thing he ever did.
