Description

JACK LONDON & THE SPARROWS  s/t Canadian Garage Rock STEPPENWOLF ~ ORIGINAL

1965/Canada/Capitol Records T-6115…..here’s a rare original pressing of this Canadian Garage Beat Rock lp. The cover is in solid VG+ condition. There is light corner wear, light corner bumps, light shelf wear on front cover, one half inch seam split on bottom seam at opening, light staining on the back top heft edge and light shelf wear, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no delete. The vinyl is in glossy strong VG+ condition with some minor light blemishes from storage and a few light inaudible hairline scuffs/scratches and a light 1/4" scratch I can feel. The vinyl plays great from start to finish, there is some light noise at cue and between tracks but otherwise plays clean with little noise and plays with clean fidelity. Don't pass this rare original pressing! Please check my auctions for other psych, prog, and rock lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!

This embryonic formation of Steppenwolf is often credited as being the first British Invasion band not only in Canada, but in the whole of North–America. Formed in Ontario in early 1964 by London–born Dave Marden (Jack London) the band quickly grew a good reputation and a solid local following.
After moving to Toronto from their native Oshawa, the band released their only album: the first beat album in Canada to feature only original songs, and no covers. The album has several stand–out tracks, with a (as expected) marked Beatles / Zombies sound, and is often seen in "favourite" lists by well–known rock’n’roll writers.
Now rescued from obscurity after decades being unavailable on vinyl, this historic album finally receives its deserved reissue.
Limited to 500 copies, preserving the original artwork

///GRADING///

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition.
