I have been spinning and collecting records since the mid 80’s.  My collection consists of a wide array of music mostly made up of disco, Chicago label house music of the 80’s and 90’s, some Detroit techno as well as classic and obscure Italo.  My collection has a strong presence of items from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and some from the 00’s.  Those who know me in the Chicago and New York area know that my collection has some very unique items.  While I don’t have everything, I do have very very many of those songs played on WBMX and WGCI throughout the 80’s.

Sadly the time has come for me to unload some of my most prized items as well as some of my extra copies of other things.  I will be posting some items that I consider to be rare and those items will have serious reserves.  Most other items will be posted without any reserves and will sell at whatever the market will bare.

I will be using my best judgment when describing each item’s condition and I will be posting one picture with each auction.  I do have the ability to provide sound clips but will need a few days to do it.  For those wishing to hear a sound clip, I only ask that you be legitimately interested in the respective auction.

Describing record conditions are subjective in my opinion so I will not be issuing refunds for items that are differentiation in interpretation of condition unless I am grossly misrepresenting the auction.  In other words, if I lie, I will be glad to issue a refund but I won’t be issuing a refund for an item that I call very good that someone else feels is just good.  Where I list my records, I do not have the ability to listen to the each item’s condition.  However each record will be cleaned with a record cleaner and it will be visually graded on the following level:

Mint = unopened

Excellent = appears to be played very few times and should have no audible noises

Very Good = few or no visual marks and appears to play very well

Good = more than a few marks and appears to have some potential surface noise

Fair = definitely some surface noise and potential skips

I will always advise if there is writing on the label and if the item will come with an original sleeve or picture sleeve.  Some items may not have an inner sleeve.

Comments:     Here I go voicing my opinion again but this simply may be the rarest Chicago house track ever!!  Few know the story.  In fact, I don't either but I hear it goes something like this.  Chip E. cut this record and started pressing it without having all the publishing legal rights worked out.  After 500 copies (20 boxes) were pressed and released, the lawyers stepped in and shut it down.  The 500 copies went to radio DJ's/stations and some copies made it to a few stores, namely Imports and Loop Records.  They got snatched up quickly.  There were no re-orders or extra copies.  Later that year, once the legal stuff was worked out, it got picked up by Gotta Dance records, widely known as the "gray" label pressing.  Anyone who has one knows the press quality is shotty but for many, that's viewed as the original pressing -- but it's not!!  Later, DJ International picked up the rights, pressed it in bulk and released it.  By that time, it was a full year after the initial release.  Even the DJ International pressing isn't that clean.  The best and cleanest pressing is this one.  Now, I regret that there's a little writing on the label and although the vinyl looks played, I have played both sides end to end and it sounds great in my opinion.  I am not here to misrepresent its condition but to me, it plays extremely well.  You may hear a little hissing or a pop or two at the outset of a couple tracks but beyond that, it plays near perfectly.  For me, this is the rarest Chicago house record I own.  Ask any Chicago jocks, Julian, Bill, Farlye, Frankie and so on and I think they'll tell you the same.  Of any Chicago produced records and that includes the Marcus Shannon and Joe Lewis stuff, I think they'll all tell you to a man that this is the pinnacle.  This is the rarest record to have in your collection.  With all that said, the reserve on this record is in line with its rarity in my opinion.  As with the Faces Drums listing, if it doesn't sell here, then it goes back in my collection for a very long time.
