JACK WILSON "Something Personal" Blue Note 84251, Van Gelder, Stereo Vinyl

This is the 1967, Van Gelder-stamped, first pressing of JACK WILSON's "Something Personal" on the "Division of Liberty Records, Inc." labels of Blue Note BST 84251. Musicians include Jack Wilson, Roy Ayers, Ray Brown, Charles 'Buster' Williams, Varney Barlow.

VINYL plays beautifully; small dimple on Side 1 sounds for a second. Instruments are clear, clean, dynamic, powerful. Upright bass very strong. Some inherent pressing noise, low volume, on Side1, #1. Vinyl surface shiny and glossy. Practically blemish free. No distortion. No locked grooves. No groovewear. No warps. High gloss. The  "Division of Liberty Records, Inc." labels are clean with some spindle wear under light. See photos.

The COVER is practically perfect, some ringwear present.  No splits of any kind. Corners a little worn. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 43 West 61st St., New York, NY 10023" back jacket is super clean. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
