Information
In early 1962, Jackie Lomax left Dee and the Dynamites to join Merseybeat band The Undertakers. They followed the same route as The Beatles through local venues before setting out for Hamburg, Germany and finally securing a record deal. From that point onwards, they were dogged by ill-luck and lack of success. They signed with Pye Records and released four singles which only managed to place one week on the British charts between them. In 1965 they moved to America to try their luck there.
After two years in America with The Undertakers and a couple of other groups, Jackie Lomax's latest band, The Lomax Alliance, were taken back to Britain in 1967 by Brian Epstein to showcase them at the Saville Theatre in London. He arranged for a single and an album to be recorded and they signed to CBS. Epstein's untimely death ruined the plans for the band. During that period CBS released two Lomax Alliance singles and one solo Jackie Lomax single. More than enough tracks for an album were recorded but it was never released.
After Brian Epstein's death, the Beatles' new record label Apple took over responsibility for Jackie's recording career, with George Harrison becoming heavily involved on the production side. Despite having 75% of the Beatles on the record as well as Eric Clapton and Nicky Hopkins, success remained elusive. The shambles which was Apple, after the break-up of the Beatles, made matters even worse. During that period Apple released three singles--including the song "Sour Milk Sea", written by George Harrison--and the Is This What You Want? LP. By 1970, the break-up of the Beatles had badly affected Apple Records and Allen Klein was called in. Apple artists found themselves under contract to a label who had no interest in them.: (Wikipedia).

√ RARE 1st PRESSING !!! :
DISPLAYS MOTHER STAMPER '1' / 'G' ~ E. M. I record labels (stateside, Parlophone, Tamla, Columbia, Stax, Liberty, United Artists and bell included) use the following coding: G R A M O P H L T D (GRAMOPHONE LTD) where G=1, R=2, A=3, M=4, O=5, P=6, H=7, L=8, T=9 and D=0. (these are printed on the runoff ~ if the matrix no. Is 6 o'clock, these are 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) therefore, many times you will see more then one letter etched in the dead wax in the stamper location (3 o'clock). For example, if "mm" is etched, it means the record was pressed with the 44th stamper. The ultimate early pressing of any single (distributed by labels under the E. M. I umbrella) would be denoted with the codes 1/G 1/ G (side 1 and side 2), where the "1" represents the first mother (9 o'clock) and the "G" denotes the first stamper (3 o'clock) generally only demos, factory samples and the first couple of hundred records will have this code!

Sam and I are committed to giving as much detailed information in our listings. However, due to the amount of records that we list each week, we can't possibly listen to every LP in full. As our feedback suggests, we have a reputation for honesty & are trusted by collectors around the world, and if on the rare occasion our grading doesn't represent the condition, we operate a full refund policy (see details below)

COLLECTABLE VINYL RECORDS
The Barraclough Brothers
Dear collector, we are the Barraclough Brothers of ‘Collectable Vinyl Records’. Sam and I have established a reputation as a trusted supplier of rare vinyl, based upon honest and thorough descriptions of our items. Together we have undertaken the task of selling our father’s extensive record collection, which he has amassed during his time as a dj and music critic. It’s a considerable and unique vinyl collection of albums and singles with many rare items included. In addition to the known rare records there are many demo and promotional items, which were not available for general purchase making them highly collectable. The chronology of the collection stretches from the early 1960s, to the early 1980s. Within this period, there is a concentration of records released between 1965 – 1969 – a seminal era for music that is reflected by it’s collectability. Although the spectrum of musical genre is wide, a considerable proportion of the collection is Motown, Northern Soul, Psych & Freakbeat records. Fresh rare records usually start on a Thursday or Friday, ending 10 days later on Sunday or Monday evenings. If you have any questions concerning this item or wish to enquire about this record collection, please contact us by eBay or email : collectablevinylrecords@gmail.com we aim to reply within 24 hours where possible.
GRADING POLICY
We have a databased our collection, using the ‘rare records price guides’ grading scale (if you are unaware of this grading system please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will reply as soon as possible with a explanation of how this grading system works. As you can see in the description there is a grading given to vinyl and audio quality. This is necessary because a record may seem ‘poor’ quality when viewed, but when played, the audio quality is often ‘excellent’. Conversely the vinyl quality may seem excellent but when played the audio quality can be quite poor.
FULL REFUND POLICY
We will offer a full refund (including p & p) if you find that any of the gradings (outer sleeve, label, vinyl or audio quality) given in the listing do no match the record’s description (according to the rare record collector grading system). A full refund (including p & p) policy prohibits scammers, but more importantly ensures our true collectors complete piece of mind. As you see by our feedback, we have attained a strong reputation based on the accuracy of our descriptions, communication with clients and a quick and professional postage service. So, in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt that you are returning the record and we will deposit your refund via Paypal.
PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED & PACKAGED
√ All records are professionally cleaned with a Smart Matrix cleaning machine before dispatch √
√ All LPs are securely & professionally packaged within record mailers, using protective PVC sleeves & two corrugated card stiffeners for added reinforcement √
NEW P & P POLICY & TARIFFS
√ Receive securely & professionally packaged records via the Royal Mail 1st class service for free √
As a consequence of the new e Bay regulations on p + p in September 2009, we changed our tariff structure. And although they have since relinquished these regulations, we will continue to offer this service. As you can see in the table above, we have made the “domestic 1st class service (much quicker & more reliable than 2nd)” free. We have also significantly reduced our European & Non EU tariffs.
CUSTOMS PRACTICE
For non – E.U collectors
We have become aware that many of our non EU customers have difficulties receiving records without (particularly with the more valuable records) paying huge customs charges. As always Joe and I will strive to make things easier (and cheaper) for our collectors. To achieve this we will always send the record(s) as a “gift” and state the value to be under £5, ensuring that you receive the records without paying unnecessary custom charges or problems in your country.
SHIPPING & HANDLING POLICY
For domestic delivery we offer a choice of royal mail 1st class, 1 st class, recorded signed for or special next day delivery. For international customers airmail is our preferred shipment option. However, any customer can request services such as surface mail or airsure. Our regular international buyers may notice we have recently substantially reduced our postage tariffs for both ‘European’ and ‘rest of the world’ delivery. *note* the postal options – special delivery, next day and airsure provide extra compensation (up to £500) and security – this is strongly advisable for many of the rare and valuable records that we sell. I cannot accept liability for items that may be lost or damaged by royal mail so please bear this in mind when selecting your postage option. However, in all circumstances I will obtain proof of postage which insures the package up to the value of £39. (see the royal mail website for details) you will be given these postage options when you pay for your item(s). Those who wish to purchase more than one record (up to a batch of three [sent together], may receive postage reductions upon request). These are shown in the table below :
