SAPCOR 6, original first issue UK 1969 Apple record labels.

Jackie Lomax was one of the artists to be signed to the newly formed Beatles Apple record label in 1968. The album features an original composition by George Harrison, ‘Sour milk Sea’.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. the mother / stampers on each side of the record are: ‘1 G and ‘1 G’, the earliest mother / stampers you can get,

2. side one features a first issue UK 1969, dark green apple record label,

3. first issue UK 1969, Apple record labels with the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc,

4. comes with its original unique, ‘Apple’ custom inner sleeve. On the rear, top right corner there is an official looking number printed of 967517. Its interesting to note that the ‘font’, ie the letter style appears to be identical to that issued on the Beatles White album numbering, although the size of this print does seem to be slightly smaller,

5. the record features an unusual ‘sharp edge’ to it.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained sharp for their age. The spine is in very good+ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is some slight laminate lifting near to the spine.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original apple ‘custom’ plain white inner sleeve with the original ‘apple’ black text on it. The original sleeve has remained clean and white for its age. The two opening edges have remained clean for their age. Theres NO tears, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is a split to one of the side edges and the name ‘Jackie’ has been written on the front, top right corner in black pen.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the original period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: SAPCOR 6 A – 1 and SAPCOR 6 B – 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘1 G and ‘1 G’, the earliest mother / stampers that you can get.

THE AUDIO: each side plays near excellent, each side plays with some light ‘ticks’ and some light ‘crackle’ heard here and there. The record plays with a full, clear, powerful stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, there are a set of ‘initials’ written in black pen on side one. Side two is in excellent++ condition. The labels are free from any ‘other’ pen writing and free from any stickers or sticker residue.
