Item will be VPI wet-cleaned and resleeved for the utmost quality if buyer desires it opened.
Record Grading VG+. Play tested vinyl: plays nicely.
Jacket Grading VG. Jacket intact, has been taped on all closed spine edges. Sticker on back, and discolouration through age (see pics). Please keep in mind we typically under-grade, therefore this sleeve appears is worse condition on the listing than actual, this is done to make all buyers happy.
LONG OUT-OF-PRINT LP. Original Prestige #7087, 447 W. 50th St on labels. RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) initials on dead wax.
"Although altoist Jackie McLean's Prestige recordings of the 1950s are not as significant as his Blue Notes from the '60s, he did record quite a bit of enjoyable hard bop material during this era. This CD is unusual for, in addition to a conventional quintet (with trumpeter Bill Hardman, pianist Mal Waldron, bassist Doug Watkins and drummer Art Taylor), the young tuba player Ray Draper is heard on three of the five group originals. Draper played his instrument as part of the frontline rather than in the rhythm section and, even if he was not on the level of McLean and Hardman, he gives some needed color to this set. Waldron, who contributed two of the five selections (the others are by McLean, Watkins or Draper) really sets the melancholy mood for much of the music and is an important force behind the scenes. An interesting CD".

Factory Sealed - FS: Brand New in Original wrapping.
Near Mint - NM: Used, but in like new condition.
Very Good ++ - VG++ (or EX): Slight surface scuffs, or extreme minor wear to jackets. Will NOT affect play (most will rate this NM).
VG+ - Very Good Plus: Minor flaws (cover, discs), but will not detract from product. Vinyl may have slight noise.
VERY Good - VG: Wear apparent to jacket or discs, will play with noise. *note, we do NOT sell anything in this condition, unless an extreme rarity. It will be obviously marked if in this shape.
Grading is shown in the following format as shown above. ex- NM / NM (cover / discs).
