Jackie McLean/John Jenkins, Alto Madness, Prestige 7114, yellow label, 446 West 50th Street address. Year of release is 1957. Personnel includes Jackie McLean and John Jenkins on alto saxophone, Wade Legge on piano, Doug Watkins on bass, and Arthur Taylor on drums. Tracks include Alto Madness, Windy City, The Lady Is A Tramp, Easy Living, and Pondering. Jacket is in VG condition. The top edge is clean, the bottom edge has about one and one half inches of wear where the laminate has worn through to wear cardboard is visible. The spine is about one third worn. If the edges were as clean as the front and back cover, the jacket would get a VG to VG+ grade. Record visually and play grades good to very good with strict Goldmine standards applied. There is noise throughout, but the twin alto saxophones are sharp and clear. There are a couple of stains on the B side label (See image below). This is a very rare record, and this copy is only for the Jazz fan who can accept a superb performance and listen through the flaws and appreciate what is available because of the substantially reduced price until a better copy might come along.
