This is 1968, first edition, “RVG” stamped pressing of JACKIE MCLEAN’s “New and Old Gospel” on the "Liberty” labels of Blue Note BLP 4262. RARE MONO PRESSING FOR DJ RADIO PLAY ONLY. SEE "MONO" STICKER. Musicians include Jackie McLean, Ornette Coleman, LaMont Johnson, Scott Holt, Billy Higgins.
VINYL plays very well with only occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Very Good gloss. Super clean. A few long non-feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “Liberty” labels are clean. See photos.
BST 84262 COVER shows ringwear, large stains. “MONO LP” sticker. Corners worn. Tape and red ink stains lower right corner. Top seam and Spine in good shape. Lower seam cracking and 3” tape. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, INC., 1776 Broadway, New York 10019” back jacket shows wear, aging, tape. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
