This one is the 1st stereo pressing in Japan of JACKIE McLEAN's "TIPPIN' THE SCALES" by King Record in 1981, GXK-8161. An un-issued version of Blue Note catalog originally recorded in 1960 by Rudy Van Gelder. The tape had been neglected and sit still in the Blue Note vault for a long time. It was found almost 20 years later by Michael Cuscuna who was the producer of this album in Japan.
Together with the then top class jazz musicians, this album is the must for McLean and Brooks collectors.
Jackie Mclean (alto saxophone), Tina Brooks (tenor saxophone), Blue Mitchell (trumpet), Kenny Drew (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), Art Taylor (drums).
The vinyl looks bright and glossy. I've played test this record on my system and it plays NM on both sides.
The cover is rated NM (almost new) with no issue.
The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-. You will be satisfied.
