McAULEY WHO GREW UP IN BELFAST IS BEST REMEMBERED AS THE KEYBOARD PLAYER ALONG SIDE VOCALIST VAN MORRISON IN THE FABULOUS MID 60'S R&B OUTFIT "THEM" WHO RELEASED TWO FABULOUS R&B / BEAT LP'S, AN E.P. AND SEVERAL WONDERFUL 45's. UNFORTUNATELY IN MID '65 DISILLUSIONMENT SET IN AND McAULEY LEFT ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER PAT AND BILLY HARRISON. . AFTER HIS DEPARTURE McAULEY FORMED THE BELFAST GYPSIES WITH HIS BROTHER BUT THIS PROVED TO BE SHORT LIVED. MOVING TO LONDON HE FORMS TRADER HORNE WITH ORIGINAL FAIRPORT VOCALIST JUDY DYBLE BUT AFTER ISSUING THE "TRADER HORNE" ALBUM THE BAND FALL'S APART AS JUDY LEAVES TO GET MARRIED WHICH BRINGS US TO THIS, HIS BRILLIANT AND MEGA-RARE FIRST SOLO ALBUM RECORDED WITH THE HELP OF SOME OF THE FINEST YOUNG JAZZ MUSICIAN'S OF THE TIME INCLUDING ... MIKE McNAUGHT, MIKE TRAVIS, ROY BABINGTON & HENRY LOWTHER.
