Description
Up for auction is a copy of Jackson C Frank, released in 1965 on Columbia, cat no 33SX 1788, a first UK pressing. A long time holy grail for UK folk collectors, this album is as good as its reputation suggests. Produced by Paul Simon.
Condition: a few marks on each side, producing some clicks & pops but no jumps or sticks. Labels have some spindle trails but are otherwise fine. Cover has some thumb creases on the laminate, some general wear, and a name + “bad surface on entire disc” (it’s honestly not that bad, as the photos hopefully indicate) written on the rear. It also has “jump” and an arrow written next to the opening cut on side two, “Milk & Honey”. It plays through fine, at least on my Transcriptors deck with tracking at 2g. A difficult one to grade, but I’ll err on the side of caution & give it G+/VG- (vinyl/cover).
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item in pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence! On 14-Feb-17 at 20:02:54 GMT, seller added the following information:***UPDATE*** So I've just played the opening track on side two again, and it transpires that there is a single jump in the opening few seconds of the song (before the vocal enters). It may play OK on your deck, and it may come out with a decent clean, but I'll obviously have to grade the vinyl down to G just to be on the safe side.
