(A beautiful gleaming vinyl with deep shine, test played with great sound quality. Supremely sharp and clear sound, hardly any noticeable audible crackle at all throughout the tracks, very quiet and hardly any noticeable background noise in between tracks, quiet on the run ins and run offs, no skips, no jumps, no sticking, no serious loud pops or clicks that are noticeable. Excellent to near mint sound quality. This 1973 UK first pressing still retains its full gloss and sheen showing only a few very faint superficial hairlines and light marks seen under strong light, these do not affect playback in any way, there is not a serious deep raised scratch in sight of any significance though, there may be some additional light paper traces from the inner sleeve under bright light but as a rule the record is very clean and the surface is largely unmarked, it looks to have been played only very occasionally by looking at the labels and lack of spindle marks and it has been looked after and cared for extremely well. As stated side one has a small series of very light paper scuffs, these can be seen but NOT HEARD whatsoever. Without them, the grading would have been close to the highest level. Still a super visual copy that is very clean, shiny, intense black and very solidly pressed. A copy with minimal plays on all the evidence and one that should please most collectors. A great original UK 1st pressing of this rare LP)

Gatefold Sleeve: EX

(A stunning gatefold format with laminate front and back. Designed by the legendary artwork house 'HIPGNOSIS'. This has the original and correct B&C credits and was printed and made in England by the E. J. Day Group. The laminated gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition. On the front and back there are just a few small laminate wrinkles and tiny scuffs. The wide spine is solid and straight. All four corner tips have a little rubbing as usual. The top seam is lovely and clean while the bottom seam does have a little scuffing near the lower spine. Overall a solid excellent condition 'HIPGNOSIS' designed gatefold sleeve and one of the best you will see. The inner gatefold has some light ringwear and a mild 'natural' crease to the right of the centre fold hinge which is near unavoidable on this cover)

On offer here, from my own collection, is an excellent condition original UK 1st pressing of the debut Jackson Heights LP titled "King Progress", issued on the UK original 1st press Charisma 'Pink Scroll' label.

THIS ALBUM IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST CHARISMA PINK SCROLLS AND IS HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER BY PROG COLLECTORS.

Debut and only album released by Jackson Heights on Charisma, they went on to make three more on Vertigo, two on the massively collectable Spiral label. This is a lovely melodic progressive album. A top quality EMI pressing too, no worries about surface noises or unwanted sounds on this one. This copy has been very lightly played and includes a superb fresh-looking gatefold cover and with only relatively fine surface marks should delight most collectors. Certainly never an easy one to get that will play to perfection on vinyl, this copy is a real delight and plays excellently throughout.

This excellent album is a 'MUST HAVE' for British prog rock fans and Charisma label collectors.

MINT (M): The record / cd displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

+ or - : Indicates slightly better (+) or slightly lesser (-) condition than main grade
