This first pressing is the true definition of a FINAL UPGRADE archive classic! It plays beautifully with no sign of any intrusion and as always I have played every track in full. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is phenomenal and it is patently obvious this vinyl has been so well looked after. There is not too much spindle wear and the vinyl itself is visually stunning. It's a very melodic album of course and I cannot emphasise enough just how clean and precise the audio is. It is STUNNING in every way!
The textured does have some wear but this is mainly restricted to some surface rubbing / fading around the edges. The poly-lined inner sleeve is not the original one but is nonetheless in great condition. Sadly the poster is not included with this album.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a stunning glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a small number of ultra faint hairlines and even they are difficult to find! There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are very clean also. The Vertigo labels are unmarked and have only minimal spindle wear on S1 and just a little more on S2.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 has barely any static, always a good sign, and then the intro on 'Maureen' plays to perfection. The opening vocal section has no background either and the following chorus is equally as clean. The instrumental bridge plays with sublime quality and the next vocal... perfect. The remainder plays beautifully - a very melodic piano led track and you can see why it was a single. A superlative Mint version.
The very quiet intro on 'Oh You Beauty' plays with incredible clarity, I only noticed a couple of barely audible statics and I do mean barely audible! The opening vocal is just as impressive and it continues in the same way. A handful of super quiet statics that is all. The piano mid section plays with impeccable quality and you definitely get The Nice vibes on this track which is no surprise. The closing vocal passage again plays to the highest standard possible as there is literally no intrusion on the audio. One static tick at the end of the fade out but still worthy of a Mint- grade.
Another quiet intro on 'As She Starts' and another one playing with perfect clarity. This is true for the rest of the track also. In essence it could not play any better, every section plays with stunning clarity, depth and warmth. Mint
'Bebop' once again shows how well this vinyl has been looked after. From start to finish it plays with exceptional quality, I cannot fault. The sonic quality can only be described 'as new' - the more powerful end section is a prime example of that. Absolutely STUNNING audio! Mint is 100% deserved.
The piano intro on 'Catch A Thief' is faultless as is the first vocal section and it proceeds in the same manner. The long instrumental section plays with sensational quality - this is seriously good! What really strikes you is just how clean and precise the audio is - for a final track the sonic 'landscape' is incredible, no loss in quality at all, no distortion etc. The brief 'vocal' at the end has no interference and the fade out has no background. A phenomenal Mint version all day long.

The title track 'Ragamuffins Fool' plays with genuine quality from the word go. The intro and opening vocal section both play 'as new' and this clarity of sound is maintained as it progresses. No interference, no background just pure Mint audio from the first note to the last.
'Chorale (From Five Bridges Suite)' is a reworked Nice number and it plays with stunning quality throughout. A couple of very quiet statics on the piano intro which are of course totally non-intrusive and the opening vocal passage plays beautifully. It's a quiet number and yet the clarity is astonishing. There is one minor static tick during the mid instrumental and the closing vocal section could not be any stronger and the same applies to the final brief acoustic / piano section. Mint-
'Chips And Chicken' plays with stunning precision through every vocal and instrumental section. I know some may say how can a 53 year old vinyl sound 'as new' but when there is no background and no loss of sonic quality it deserves to be described as such. This is the most 'complete' Mint version that you will find.
'Poor Peter' keeps up this fine standard with near perfect audio. I heard just one barely audible tick on the first vocal but it's so quiet you could easily miss it. The fade out, the few seconds of silence and the even shorter finale have no background at all. Mint-
The intro on 'Bellyful Of Water' plays with outstanding clarity and depth and the opening vocal is just as strong and clear. From then on it plays with wonderful audio and again for a final track the clarity of sound is amazing. The audio definition is so impressive and the closing section in particular stands out because it is more powerful. The final 'sea' scene plays with great clarity also. A Mint conclusion for sure.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The textured cover is in very good condition but with no major issues. The edges have hardly any rubbing and the spine remains strong and wide with only a little rubbing on the pinched ends, it is very clean. The four corners have some light wear with just a little more bottom right and the opening edge is in lovely condition with no obvious wear. The front cover has some light fading / spotting around the edges and a small corner crease bottom left and the back cover is similar. A small cross written next to the 'Bellyfull Of Water' title. A respectable example overall.
The poly-lined inner sleeve is as stated not the original one but it remains in great condition with no side splits or tears, just one very small mark and only a hint of age related fading on the two side edges. Hardly any creasing either.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
