American r&b and soul queen Millie Jackson followed up Feelin' Bitchy, which had already established her chart presence the previous year, with Get It Out'cha System in 1978. Her voice remains pretty unique even now - its guttural, raw, and seems to come up from deep within. 'Go Out & Get Some' opens with plenty of attitude and slow motion swagger, 'He Just Wants To Hear The Words' stays within familiar territory, using understated backing to frame the lyrical delivery, 'Sweet Music Man' is a Kenny Rogers cover that reached #33 on the US soul singles chart and 'Logs And Thangs' shifts into a more assertive tone with roomy disco and soul instrumentals. The album reached gold status and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Soul chart before remaining out of print until this reissue.
