JACO PASTORIUS- "PASTORIUS" -WORD OF MOUTH & INVITATION 3LPs Jaco Pastorius Epic PE33949  1976 Word Of Mouth  Warner Bros.  BSK 3535  1981 Invitation Warner Bros.  1-23876  1983
Pastorius- Visually looks awesome, but has standard surface noise for the time period with random ticks.  No pops.  No skips.  Inner Sleeve is the standard Columbia white paper sleeve.  The outer sleeve is very good with the corners slightly dinged- tough to see on the pics.   Word Of Mouth- Visually might see some paper scuffing, otherwise good.  This LP I know I inherited from a radio station I worked at, which was more traditional jazz.  This is the source of the label on the upper left of cover and a sticker on side one of the LP.  Radio stations didn't get a better quality pressing than the rest of us.  Standard surface noise with random ticks.  No Skips.  There is a short series of pops at the beginning of 3 Views Of A Secret (side one).  There is another series of pops/ scratch at the beginning of Word Of Mouth (side two).  (Probably some semi-angry DJ doing a bad job of lifting the arm off the record.)  The inner sleeve is coated paper with a pic of Jaco at the piano on one side.  The outer sleeve is good with the station label upper left, a cutout -type notch in the upper right.  (no notch I found on the inner sleeve.)  This outer sleeve shows wear on the spines, particularly on the bottom, but it still protects the LP well.   Invitation- This LP is all concert performances, but the sound is not continuously threaded, but surface noise is still masked during the songs for the most part.  Minimal random ticks in quiet sections.  NO skips.  Visually looks awesome.  Overall a decent piece of vinyl for early 1980s.  The inner sleeve is typical for WB 1980s, kind of a plastic poly sleeve, but no WB insignia's; just plain.  It's in good shape.  The outer sleeve is overall very good, but each corner has slight stress probably from my storage acumen.        Yes!  That’s my U-Turn Orbit turntable with the Ortofon 2m Red cartridge.  I’m missing the automatic capability, but everything else is very sweet.
