(hand-etched run-offs  NJLP-8273-A   and   NJLP-8273-A   with machine-stamped "Van Gelder" indicating an original Rudy Van Gelder master )

From my personal collection.......highly coveted original mono first-pressing from Jaki Byard (1922-1999).

Although Byard had (by the early 60's) already performed and recorded with several greats like Maynard Ferguson and Charles Mingus, "Hi-Fly" was just his second solo LP as leader.

An absolutely brilliant set featuring a couple of giants of jazz completing the trio..........Ron Carter and Pete La Roca.
