JAMES BROWN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 78RPM FEDERAL 12258. It is with sad regret that I let this one go. James Browns first recording A great opportunity to purchase ten inches of music history . Recorded in 1956 , according to Etta James According toEtta James, Brown and his group came up with the idea for their first song, because Brown "used to carry around an old tattered napkin with him, because Little Richard had written the words, 'please, please, please' on it and James was determined to make a song out of it". It first came to my attention when The Who covered it on the My Generation album and I had wanted a copy ever since. Some very light surface marks have no affect on play.
