This is a double LP set titled “James Brown Sings & Plays” on the Smash Records label. This is a very rare special package. The 2 record set comes in the original gate-fold jacket for the single LP “James Brown Sings Out Of Sight” and includes that stereo LP, Smash catalog number SRS-67109 from 1968 and a second stereo LP titled “James Brown Plays James Brown, Today And Yesterday”, Smash catalog number SRS-67072 from 1965 which is all instrumental versions of popular James Brown songs by the band with JB playing organ. The jacket has a sticker on the cover that covers up the original “Sings Out Of Sight” title and shows the song titles of the two records in the package.

All records that I have for sale are from my personal collection and were purchased new and played exclusively on a high end turntable.

Both of these records were pressed on thick vinyl. They are in excellent condition with some rub marks on the surface of the 67072 record but no scratches. The “JB Sings” record plays really well with some stylus on vinyl sounds and occasional clicking. The “JB Plays” instrumental LP plays with somewhat more clicking noise, no doubt related to an inferior pressing process on that record by Smash Records. There are no skips on either record. Record labels are in excellent condition. The outer jacket is in very good condition with minor ring wear on the front and back, two small surface creases on the front and a surface crease on the back. There is also a cut-out punch hole at the bottom left and a few small nicks on the edge of the top cover. All seams are solid. (See pictures).

I will pack the records outside of the jacket to protect jacket integrity and ship in a sturdy LP mailer with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap for further protection.
