Super-cool two-sider, including Jan's tongue-in-cheek answer to Donovan's "Universal Soldier".
Lines such as "just a knave" make it clear Jan was spoofing the protest trend, for Jan & Dean's
"Folk 'N Roll" LP.   Nonetheless, Dean HATED this (and the morbid "A Beginning From An End"),
which is why this came out as a Jan Berry solo 45.   Needless to say, it didn't sell.
This is the far superior mono mix -- the album version just doesn't pack the same punch.
(The Wrecking Crew never sounded better.)
The flip is a very good end-of-summer beach ballad that will have you California dreamin'.

 

Buy more than one record, and save on postage.
I can send two 45s overseas for the same price as one.   And speaking of that price --

To my overseas customers:  The U.S. postal service raised their rates on
Monday, 28 January 2013.   I want you to know that the higher shipping charges 
are THEIR fault, not mine.  Thanks to this substantial rate hike, the days of
shipping a well-protected 45 for just 7 or 8 U.S. dollars are over.
The higher rates affect ALL packages sent to locations outside the United States, and all
buyers and sellers are affected.

Another important note:   More and more packages sent overseas are getting hung up
in customs.   It is not unusual for some packages to take 6-8 weeks to reach buyers,
even though they're being sent out within a day or two of payment.   
Germany, France, Italy, Greece, and Australia have all reported longer than
usual customs delays.   Please be patient -- I mail packages out very quickly,
but the rest is up to the postal service!
